Something not working?
Email hello@sunkcost.app. A real person reads it. Include your phone model and Android version if something is broken — it saves a round trip.
Common questions
Where is my data stored?
On your phone, in a local database. There is no account and no sync, so uninstalling the app deletes everything it holds. Back up anything you would miss before reinstalling. The one exception is a pile you have deliberately shared — that copy lives on our server until you revoke it.
How do I stop sharing my pile?
Settings, then Sharing, then Stop sharing. The shared copy and its key are deleted from our server and the link stops working for everyone, immediately. If you have already uninstalled the app you cannot reach that button — the key that proves the pile is yours went with it — so email hello@sunkcost.app with the link and we will delete it.
Why is a game missing from search?
Search comes from the IGDB games database. If something is not there, add it manually — the app will ask roughly how long it takes, and a guess is enough.
A game has no playtime estimate. What happens?
It still lives in your pile, but Tonight will not offer it as something you could finish in a session, because that would be a guess dressed as a fact. Give it a rough length and it joins in.
Does it work offline?
Yes, apart from searching for new games. Your pile, tonight’s picks, finishing and rating all work with no connection.
I shared a link into the app and nothing obvious happened.
It is waiting in your captures inbox, reachable from the Pile tab. Store links usually arrive with the game name already filled in; a video link keeps whatever title was shared with it, and you can reopen the original from the row.
How do I get a refund?
Email hello@sunkcost.app with your receipt and what went wrong. A refund is issued by whoever took the payment, so if you bought through a store it goes back through them — but tell us either way, and we will help where we can. The details are on the refunds page at sunkcost.app/refunds.
